Greater Springfield has no paid staff. Typically, over 25 volunteers help on site building each home,
Local contractors are hired for the heating and wiring, and they hire a a local contractor to oversee the construction. Local companies supply concrete and building materials.
Local companies also donate some materials,and installation expertise.

Homes Completed to date: Seven homes have been completed as of the fall of 2011.·
In the late fall of 2011, Greater Springfield purchased an older home that they renovated in 2012. It turned out beautifully! Congratulations.
The photo on the left is the 7th home the Springfield affiliate has built.· It is a 3 bed 1and 1/2 bathrooms, 1056 sq.ft. home on a slab with an attached 20' x 24' 1 car garage. It is a basic HFH floor plan, but Springfield made a few changes to the design...7/12 pitch roof, 8"thick walls,4" of rigid insulation under the slab,18" of insulation in the attic,and high efficiency Jeld-Wen windows & doors.· Also there is a high efficiency Rinnai boiler,an air exchanger,and solar domestic hot water to supplement that which produced by the boiler.· An open house is planned for mid January.
