World Habitat Awards
On Thursday 22 February 2024 we held the 2024 World Habitat Awards Winners Celebration.
We heard from UN Habitat and award-winning housing champions from across the world as they shared their stories with us. The video of the first hour, with presentations on retrofitting, housing rights, homes for rural communities, affordable student housing, emergency housing, early weather warning systems, and cohousing communities will be available soon.
Network Events
Members of the World Habitat Awards Network are invited to online seminars on a variety of themes, from sustainable housing to housing rights.
2024 programme:
17 April: Housing solutions for war refugees and displaced people
10 July: Energy-efficient retrofitting of buildings: efficient solutions to reduce carbon emissions
11 July: Rural housing improvements from different approaches
8 October: Community organising and informal settlements upgrading
9 October: Community-led solutions for students and the elderly

15 November – Submitting complaints to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing with Gunnar Theissen, Human Rights Officer at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (contact us if you have not received the invite)
Although these sessions are for members of the World Habitat network, we will be sharing some important resources on this topic following the training sessions, so watch this space.
